Race Report - World Cup 8, Park City

Team Minichiello/Cooke
Team Minichiello made it onto the podium once more with a 6th place finish in the World Cup final race in Park City, USA.
After the first run the team was in 5th position, one place ahead of Kiriasis of Germany 1 and only 6th hundredths off 3rd place. Team Minichiello had the 2nd fastest start with a time of 5.31, three hundredths off the fastest starters Canada 2. In the second run the girls posted another good start, again the 2nd fastest start of the run, but dropped to 6th place overall as Kiriasis moved up several places into 3rd.
The eventual race winners were Germany 2 driven by Cathleen Martini with Janine Tischer on the brakes, ahead of Humphries/Brown of Canada 2.
Taking 6th place in Park City means that Team Minichiello finish the World Cup circuit ranked 3rd overall, the best finish by a British team. With the World Cup series at an end the action now moves to Lake Placid for the season’s finale, the World Championships.
