Report - World Cup 1 2008, Winterberg
Team Minichiello started their 2008/09 World Cup campaign with a 9th place finish on the 29th November in Winterberg, Germany.
Due to snowy conditions the start times on the first run were considerably down for several teams including GB1, it becoming a lottery of the starting order how much snow was on the track when each team went to the block. After the first run the girls were in 10th position, 0.06 seconds behind Switzerland 1, having posted a time of 5.98 on the start.
By the time of the second run the snow had stopped and the start times picked up considerably. The girls posted a much improved time of 5.78 on the second run and, with a finishing time 0.51 seconds quicker than the first run, managed to pick up a place to finish 9th overall. The team is now looking forward to improving on this position in the next World Cup race in Altenberg, Germany on the 6th December.
