Sean Olsson - Coach
| An international athlete for over 10 years, the highlight of Sean’s competitive career was winning Olympic Bronze at the 1998 Nagano Games in the 4-man event. Beginning his career at an Army bob-school in 1988 he progressed quickly through the ranks, being selected as a junior development driver for GB on the Europa Cup circuit the following year. Winning the European Junior Championships that same year he then took Bronze in both 2-man and 4-man at the 1990 Junior World Championships. Sean was GB’s top ranked driver from 1992 to 2002, winning 15 World Cup medals and numerous Europa Cup medals during this time. | ![]() |
After retiring as a full time athlete in 2002, Sean took up a coaching role within the Army, running events such as bob schools, Army Championships and coaching the senior Army Team. In 2008 he was selected to coach and manage the GB Europa Cup team. Upon completion of this circuit he joined Team Minichello to assist in the lead in to the World Championships. Sean lists his proudest coaching moment to date as watching Team Minichiello achieve their goal in becoming the 2009 World Champions.
