This small Village in the Dolomite mountains of Northern Italy is rich in bobsleigh tradition. In addition to the 1956 Olympic Winter Games, Cortina has hosted nine FIBT World Championships and will be the site for the 2011 competition. The track is now named after Eugenio Monti, one of the greatest bobsleigh pilots and sportsmen of all time.
